The surgery went well; Anya now is the proud owner of a
central line in her leg. In theory she should not need any other IV’s for the
duration of her stay!
There haven’t been many dirty diapers, but there has been
gas, a lot of gas. That is good but not enough, so tomorrow Anya is going to
get go-lytely. Yup, all of you who have had a colonoscopy should be familiar
with it- it is that nasty gallon of junk they make you drink the night before
to clean you out. She is only going to get two ccs a hour; not very much. Thirty
ccs is one ounce. Hopefully we will see some results from that.
We are having a great time with Arwen, today we went
shopping and Arwen got her hair cut. I am starting to realize how different
having two kids will be! It was hard to decide where to be, at the hospital or
out with Arwen. There isn’t much for Arwen to do at the hospital. She (we) need
one on one time, so it doesn’t make sense for us all to be up there together as
a family for very long. I know this is as complicated as this will ever be, but
it is still a little daunting. I now remember Mom and Dad at Kasey and my
softball games when we were in high school. I was on the varsity team and Kasey
was JV, we played at the same time, but usually in fields that were right next
to each other. Mom would face one game, Dad would face the other, but they
would sit right next to each other. Compromise!
Praying for all ofyou. Try to enjoy the simple moments.
