I am happy I got to hold her, but it was a nerve-racking
experience. It took some convincing for her to get comfortable and her sats went
down. Her arms were flailing about and I was afraid she would pull out her
intubation tube. Eventually she settled down and we had some nice quiet time. I
look forward to holding her when she is extubated and we both can relax!
She is right on track to be extubated on Thursday. They started
her on feeds today and she is handling them pretty well. She throws up
occasionally but there are a lot of reasons that could be happening: the
intubation tube gags her, she is upset from being repositioned, or the regular
CDH issue of reflux.
Should be an exciting week!
Ah! So happy to see you holding your sweet girl. What a great feeling :) Will be praying for a successful extubation on Thursday!
