I got up really late today, partially because I did go up to
see Anya briefly last night, and partially because her nurse called me at 5:30
in the morning to tell me of a change in condition. Honestly I don’t remember
what it was exactly, because after she explained it to me I asked if it was
going to affect her long term and if she was stable now. The answer was
probably not to the first and yes to the second, so I went back to bed and
slept for another 5 hours.
When I finally got up to the hospital her post ductal oxygen
was down, and her ECMO settings were up, but other than that she looked good. After
being there for a while I noticed her post-ductal sats were going from the high
70s to the mid 90s (100 being normal). I didn’t say anything to her nurse
thinking that the fluctuation was normal; her nurse came over and had seen the
improvement at the desk and wanted to see for herself. She continued trending
up even hitting 100 on occasion until we left for supper.
She was also very alert today, I wanted to stay with her as long as she was awake but finally we had to go; here is the video!
She looks great! She has such a sweet face, even half covered up :) Praying that she can kick ECMO to the curb soon!
