Day 66

I must thank all of you who prayed for poop and farts. Because we had a lot of both today! Maybe you all should pray for world peace, and end to hunger, or a presidential campaign without mudslinging. Anya’s stomach is still measuring about the same, but they were able to start feeds today. It started with a few hours of pedialyte and then a few ccs of formula an hour. The longer she was on some kind of feeding the more gas and poop she had.

Dr. Kays is still bemused about what is going on, and I find this hilarious. If you are going to stump someone, may as well be the best. I believe the prevailing attitude toward Anya’s stomach is as long as it doesn’t cause any problems and we can continue with feeds, we are going to ignore it.

The vent was weaned down along with some of the sedatives. She was a lot more alert today as well. Everything is moving in the right direction!
