I occasionally wonder what my kids will think about this blog when they are older. Arwen will probably be upset that I did not write more about her. Anya will be mortified, occasionally throwing out that we complained enough about the trouble she caused. I wonder if it would bother her that we left her in the hospital to go to the beach.
It is important to be there with your kids, but it is also
important when you are with them that you are not going insane. Sane parents
are much better than insane parents. Martyring yourself to your child’s illness
does not help them at all. So I say to my children, so they know this when they
have children of their own: go to the beach! Or the lake, or the river, or up a
mountain, etc. This includes when Daddy and I are in the Home and we are
driving you batshit effing crazy. We know, we have been there. That goes to all
of you who may have stumbled upon this blog who are expecting a CDH baby as
well!
So escaping to the beach is a public service really! J
Anya is the most stable she has ever been, and we have the
most qualified babysitters possible! We still checked on her today. Her
feedings went up to 12ccs today, and she spent several hours sitting up in her
Boppy pillow. She looked at her nurse funny when she did it the first time. We
are having a good time but I miss her and will be happy to see her tomorrow!
I completely agree. Good for you, soak up the sun.I think laughing and being happy is needed at times when everything around you is crazy. Love the pic, strength to Anya
